Goals for 2017

Equipping OMMA for 2017 Campaign.”

Our broad goal with this campaign is to raise the additional funds we need to make 2017 the best year ever for our students, their families, our staff & instructors, the communities we serve, our ministry partners and all others who are impacted by On Mission Martial Arts.

As a 501(c)(3) Non-profit organization, OMMA depends on both revenues from operations and donations from our ministry partners to accomplish our mission with increasing excellence. We would not exist today if it were not for the faithful prayers and generous donations of so many who have seen the vision for what the Lord desires to accomplish through this ministry.

Here is a breakdown of some of the specific goals we will accomplish with funds raised during this campaign:

  1. Increase the # of class offerings at our Winter Springs, Florida location from three to four+ days per week.
  2. Allow me to travel to Zion, Illinois, to further equip John & William Allen in their martial arts, teaching and dojo developments skills to see that location experience significant growth in 2017.
  3. See the overall number of students impacted by our training increase from 150 to 250 during 2017.
  4. Increase the number of under-resourced children and families we can sponsor through the OMMA Scholarship Program from 5 to 15+.
  5. Even as our rent and other operating costs increase, to try and keep our tuition rates at their current low levels to maintain affordability especially for our larger families and single-parent families.
  6. Offer more seminars to the community at no charge, such as Bully Prevention, Women’s Self Defense, and others, from a Biblical perspective.
  7. Continue to offer 2 quality OMMA Group Service Projects impacting many in our community and around the world as well as mobilizing our OMMA community to engage increasingly in service and mission, including the possibility of an OMMA overseas mission trip in 2017.
  8. Pay our main OMMA Instructors a living wage so they can focus 100% on OMMA without the distractions and hindrances of not being fully funded.
  9. Replace the very old carpet at our main OMMA Dojo with new carpet and padding to increase safety and excellence.
  10. Funds to increase the hours we can utilize our incredible up-and-coming Teen instructors who are literally the future of OMMA’s success.
  11. Complete some improvements at our Winter Springs location, which includes removing some walls, building out a lobby and adding mirrors to increase our space and make the training area there ever more effective.

Staff Needs

After the Lord as our primary need, of course, our most important resource and need is, and always will be, our highly trained OMMA staff. A martial arts ministry is difficult to staff because it requires YEARS of training just to get a student to the rank in the martial arts where they can teach and lead others. In addition to that, OMMA requires our leaders to be developing as spiritual leaders too, so those in our program who are motivated to follow this path are so VERY valuable to our mission and so VERY difficult to replace. Help us resource our staff financially so funds don’t cause some of our great staff to leave or divide their focus!
